Incredible food, with a huge selection of fresh appetizers and well spiced entrees. We had shakshouka, baba ghanoush, hummus, dolmas, fresh salads, and they had fresh fried white anchovies as a special for the night and we all raved about them. Everyone there was incredibly kind, and extremely attentive. Can't wait to visit for brunch!

This place is really a wonderful restaurant experience. Having traveled through Turkey for 3 weeks I can say it's some of the better Turkish food I've had, even in Turkey. The waiter was very calm and friendly, and I asked for a small side of haydari and he brought out a huge amount on the house! Same for the apple tea on the house at the end, classic Turkish experience. The decor inside is nice and the seats are really comfy. It's quiet even with the Turkish music playing, a great environment. You get a lot of food for the price and it's very tasty. I got the chicken kebab and it was basically perfectly done. The dolma thats included is the best I've ever had, and I don't even like them! The rice and salad were also very well done. My friend got the chicken noodle soup and said it was the best he's ever had. It certainly looked like it to me! Very importantly, they aren't begging for reviews. They don't even mention it. What you see here is people who are merely pleased with their experience. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

I've been very interested in checking out this place, having been to Turkey twice. The place is nicely decorated with those lovely Turkish lamps. The ambiance is pretty nice and the location on 2nd Street in Belmont Shores is nice. But why is the place always so 'quiet'. I imagine one reason is that they don't serve any alcohol: no beer, no wine, etc. which is not unusual for restaurants in Turkey given their Muslim population. I do not know if they will allow folks to bring in a bottle of wine or a can or two of beer. If so they need to let folks know this. My friend and I tried the hummus, which was very good and served with warm bread. We also received some complimentary olive oil with some spices with the bread earlier. The hummus was fresh and I appreciated the olive oil in the center. I ordered the Kofta plate and the meat was delicious. Tender and juicy. The dish comes with a small side salad - also nice and fresh with a light dressing. The rice was fine. I'm not sure why french fries also come with this dish but they were nice and HOT. My friend had the chicken skewers and said they were very good. We had intentionally left room to check out their Kunefe dessert and it was 99% there. It could have been a tad warmer but it was sweet and delicious. A nice size for two to share. So what was off? After being seated and given water, plates, silverware, etc. I had to repeatedly ask for more water, which was annoying. The place was fairly empty but our server/host seemed pre-occupied at times. Also, I had asked for hot water with the dessert opting not to get a warm, caffeinated drink. She was very nice in offering lemon with it, but I personally have a peeve that the beverage should be served BEFORE the dessert arrives. It's like getting your silverware AFTER the food comes. The place has a golden opportunity to do a little better and if they will allow wine and beer, I think they need to let folks know. Put a pleasant sign indicating that these beverages are welcome and have a cork screw and some wine glasses available. Charge $5 corkage fee.

The service here is just A+, five hundred stars, chef's kiss. It's not too common when you walk into a place you feel like family, but here you absolutely do, especially if you have a baby with you! Love coming here for a family style dinner, food is fresh and home-cooked style, plentiful and delicious. Split amongst 4 (and a baby) with tea and dessert we all left satiated for a great price. The moussaka remains among my fave, along with falafels, rice and chicken skewers, but they really have something for everyone. Everyone was SO kind to my one year old, paying attention to her needs as well which makes it so much more enjoyable to dine out as a parent. My party came here for our last dinner in Long Beach for a while and although we didn't mention that to the staff, it was better than I could've asked for as a last hoorah. This spot will def be on our go to whenever we are back in town! Make sure you also check out their ice cream and trinket shop next door. What a great addition to 2nd street!

I came here to celebrate my sister's birthday. We went on a Tuesday around 7 PM. Luckily at that time on second Street you don't have to pay for parking! I would definitely say to make sure to park across the street At this time, there is no time so we were lucky that we were able to sit down right away. I really enjoyed the staff. They're very sweet and helpful. I would say if you are a vegetarian there aren't that many options for you, but my sister really likes the vegetarian option. The tasted somewhat of like a Chile relleno or lasagna. Their Greek yogurt very fresh! The ambience is very beautiful! And we also got complementary tea. I would just say if you go on a busy day that it might take a while to sit down as a location outside it's kind of small.

Galata Halal Restaurant is a true gem! I Tried the Sampler Platter with tasty chicken, beef, and kofta with rice and salad. Seasoned perfectly, tender and juicy. The dressing is delicious. The appetizer of warm pita with sun-dried tomato in olive oil and herbs was so good.
